Rathinavel Subramaniam College of Arts and Science affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, started as first Self-Financing College under Bharathiar University in 1986, is located adjacent to the Coimbatore-Trichy highway at Sulur, enshrined in a sprawling campus encircled by enchanting greenery. Within a brief span of two decades the College has developed as one of the largest Self-Financing Colleges in Coimbatore region in terms of students strength, number of academic programmes and faculty strength. The College was granted Autonomy in September 2004. Over the past two decades it has grown steadily and exuberantly to become the biggest self financing College with a strength of more than 3300 students, 160 Teaching faculties, 45 Administrative and 25 Basic Staff. The Institution offers 16 UG courses and 13 PG courses apart from 9 M.Phil as well as 3 Ph.D (both full time and part time) courses. From 2010-11 onwards our college offers B.A. Engllish Literature – one year programme for Chinese students. The wide range of academic programmes offered are relevant to the present times reflecting the demands of the current younger generation. In 2007 the College got reaccredited by NAAC with B++ status. The College has got ISO 9001:2008 Certification. The College was accorded Autonomous status in September 2004 by the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore to which the College is affiliated. The College has ventured to mould academically alert, morally sound, spiritedly skilled and socially committed students. The reasonable fees structure, special fee concessions, Government scholarships, Quality oriented, student centered and updated curriculum based on present day needs, Career Oriented Programmes, courses to perfect soft skills, consistent monitoring of attendance and academic performance of students through counseling, adequate extracurricular amenities, and the positive placement potential have contributed immensely for the popularity of the College, drawing students from far and near. To be precise, the College, endowed with qualified and dedicated band of teaching faculty, is in possession of all qualities attributed to make learning really a pleasure to be experienced and enjoyed. |
